Free Meals for Kids!
On March 17, 2023, Governor Walz signed the MN Free School Meals bill into law. The MN Free School Meals Program is a permanent program that provides state reimbursement to schools that participate in the National School Lunch Program and the School Breakfast Program so that students can have one breakfast and one lunch at no cost at school. This Free School Meals Program began July 1st, 2023.
Mornings can be really crazy! The alarm doesn’t go off, the kids don’t want to get up, there’s no time to eat breakfast before the bus comes or they’re just not ready to eat. Or maybe your teenager grabs a can of soda and a candy bar on the way to school. If this sounds like your house, we have good news for you!
Breakfast and lunch are available at school! Take advantage of this free option to ensure your kiddo makes it through the day on a full stomach. Recent studies show a link between nutrition and learning. A nutritious breakfast and lunch helps students be more alert so they can actively participate in class.
So take advantage of this opportunity to start the day on the right foot.

Free and Reduced Meal Application and Information
Dear Parent/Guardian:
Although the breakfast and lunch meals are free for all children, it's still imperative that you fill out a Free or Reduced-price meal application. To apply, go to your parent portal, complete the Application for Educational Benefits following the instructions (both are available below). A new application is required each year. Your application also helps our school qualify for additional education funds and discounts.
Even if you don't think you'll qualify, please fill out the application. It is a huge financial benefit to the district if we collect these forms.
